Sepanx

Raw, unedited picture from one of my lunch-time Xtendbarre sessions... doing my pre-Barre stretches here.

Early this year, I lost my favorite Xtendbarre instructor. She went back to Brazil (I think it's her home country) all of a sudden. She didn't even manage to say goodbye to her students. I really loved her classes because first and foremost, her workouts are always the perfect balance of strengthening and cardio. She really has a good flow, and her workouts are always varied and never boring. It sometimes verges a teeny bit on the sadistic, though. I would tend to avoid her classes when I'm feeling really tired and sore for some reason. She can be really intense. Not a lot of people appreciate her classes... which makes me like them even more because I hate crowded classes. This is why I only take classes at lunch time. She seemed to be always very strict and formal and never relaxed. But it's not really her personality that I loved, it was how awesome she was at being an instructor. I totally owe my cellulite-free legs and tight buns to her!

During the last few sessions I had with her, I was quite surprised to to discover that we share the same love for 80's music. I guess we're about the same age. Had I known she was going to leave abruptly, I would've approached her for that 80's workout playlist with "The Neverending Story" theme in it.

This week, I'm losing yet another favorite Xtendbarre and Pilates instructor. I not only love her classes, I also love her personality. She just always seems sweet and always in a good mood. She even gave me a hug today on our last class together. I'm glad she said goodbye before going back to the U.S. It wouldn't be so nice to get the same heartbreak I had with my moody Brazilian instructor leaving without giving us closure.

Oh well... I guess it doesn't really matter that much coz we're also moving out of Singapore anyway... very, very soon.

P. S.
For those who do not know "Sepanx" is the short term for "Separation Anxiety".
